alanwilk1 Greg is an awesome guitar player, way up there, then add in his vocal skills and his writing ability and you've got a real listening and live artist. This is just a sample of the many songs he's got at his fingertips. He can riff the blues with the best of them. Give it a chance, listen to a good cross section, and a few of the solos and you'll begin to see the real Greg Spradlin coming through. Highly Recommended Listening! Favorite track: Ride On.

about

Greg Spradlin Outfit mine the hills and Delta landscape of the Mid-South to create a rich sonic tapestry reminiscent of the musical legacy born of the land they inhabit. Arkansas natives Greg Spradlin (guitar and vocals), Doug Simpson (drums and vocals) and Scott Finney (bass and vocals), reach back into their musical pockets to unite the sounds of country church, Delta Blues, honky-tonk and bar room rock into what used to be called rock and roll.

Spradlin and Simpson are former members of The SkeeterHawks, whose first album The First One I Caught has become a much sought-after favorite among fans. After releasing the now out-of-print debut album, the band was signed to San Francisco's Synapse Records. The album was produced by Dusty Wakeman (Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakum, Rosie Flores, Jim Lauderdale etc.) but never released.

Since disbanding the SkeeterHawks, Greg Spradlin has been featured on Jackass Records nationwide alt-country compilation, for which the LA Times called Greg Spradlin, "...the most impressive."

Once a part of the early No Depression-alt-country movement, Greg Spradlin Outfit is a departure to a more turbo-charged, gritty, lo-fi visit to the Southern Gothic universe. Their songs paint pictures that mix Old Testament with modern power tools.
